Be Part of the Change for Racial Injustice

Friends,
To break my silence and be part of the conversation on racial injustice while educating myself to be an effective advocate, I am sharing an email written by a blogger I follow:

She shares educational tools and how to assist the cause, I plan to learn and share what I learn with those who want to learn and advocate.
Her email has hot links to the resources and I will share it for anyone who asks for it by provided email in a private message.

From Christen:
“Hi there,
In light of recent events in Minnesota and across the US, I am changing things up a bit this week. I’ll keep this message short. As a black American woman, injustice is nothing new – it’s just that it’s being filmed now. For so long we’ve been exhausted of hearing the same things over and over, with no change being made. Despite all the terrible things that have happened, I am glad to see the energy people are starting to put towards demanding a change.
If you are intersted in being a part of the change, here are a few ways that you can get involved:

  • Donate to George Floyd’s family here
  • The Bail Project: This non-profit’s mission is to help combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system.
  • The Sentencing Project: They work to change the way American’s think about crime and punishment, focusing on Prison reform.
  • American Civil Liberties Union: They work on issues such as protecting voting rights, police reform, and many other pertinent issues.

I‘m hopeful for change – how about you?
Thanks,
Christen”

Cathy here: I want to be a part of advocating in an effective and positive way. Thanks for reading!
