Winter/Spring Confluence

Out taking my first warm Spring walk today: the day I dream of all winter long while I’m out walking dogs for exercise – theirs and mine.

Benefits? Nice warm weather, beautiful flowers, birds chirping in the trees and a warm breeze. Detriment? Beautiful flowers and the awesome allergens they bring. Otherwise, fantastic!

People have cleaned their gutters, seeded their lawns and trimmed their greenery. Best sight right now are the splendid daffodils and the redbuds coming into bloom.

The word that came to mind as I photographed the plants around me was “confluence” (an act or process of merging). The dead gumballs on trees are hanging in there surrounded by the unfolding leaf clusters. Don’t remember seeing that detail before. It’s just evidence of being on the cusp of two seasons though it is technically Spring here.

Do you love to walk in Spring? What’s your favorite part of the experience? If you walk with your cellphone, take pictures – I’d love to see them.
