How’s Everyone Doing?

How is everyone doing right now? In these days of social-distancing and self-isolation, we are all coping with a new reality that is temporary, but may last longer than we like.

I am reaching out to encourage everyone that this will be over one day and I believe we will bounce back. I am not making light of this current situation knowing that many will lose people they care about. I wish it were not true, but this will touch all of us in some way.

  4. What are you doing to get out of your four walls while respecting social distancing? Taking dogs on long walks every day, but staying clear of others. Planning to take a drive soon.
  5. Are you able to sleep-in most days? Nope. I think it’s because of an underlying weirdness about all that’s going on.
  6. What are you doing to entertain your kids? Not Applicable. Unless you consider calling and keeping up with my three grown daughters.
  7. What are you doing to keep your pup(s) from going stir crazy? Daily walks, extra treats, covering them with blankets when they are napping which is most of the time.
  8. How many times have you put on makeup this week? Once. I left it in the car last Friday and finally got it out on Wednesday. Saves money at least.
  9. How many trips have you made to restock your pantry in the last seven days? My husband made one trip.

  11. Are you working from home? Yes.
  12. Are you feeling any apathy about working at all? Sometimes. But when I think of the stories I’m writing and the passion the interviewees have and my passion for what they are doing, I get over myself and keep on keepin’ on. I also feel it’s a great time for bloggers to step up and encourage others.
  13. Have you been decluttering? A little.
  14. Have you been Spring Cleaning? A little. Once I catch up on assignments, I plan to really dig in to #13 amd14

  17. Are you completely self-isolating? Yes. I take and immunosuppressant medication for my arthritis and have to keep away from others.
  18. How are you coping with our new reality? Keeping my eye on the media but not overwhelming myself with it. Reaching out to others, especially family, and staying in touch.
  19. How are you finding comfort? Rest, writing Bible study, communicating with friends. Our pups, Grace, Tucker and our foster pup, Max, are great emotional support comforters.
  20. Are you cooking all of your meals or ordering in? I am cooking large meals so we have leftovers every two or three meals.
  21. What are you binge watching? Longmire on Netflix. I finished Virgin River on Netflix and a friend suggested Longmire. I really like it. I highly recommend Virgin River too!
  22. How many books have you read this week? Part of one…eyeroll here.
  23. What is the first thing you want to do when all of this is over? Travel to Las Vegas to see my daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby! Also, to Pittsburgh to see my daughter and our Vincent.
  24. Who will you visit first when the quarantine is lifted? My mom!
  25. How are you supporting small businesses who are struggling now? I’m doing nothing so far, but planning to buy gift certificates to a few local restaurants to support them through this time.

I’m really looking forward to everyone’s answers. My goal here is to provide a little distraction from our current reality, but more importantly, to encourage all of you who are struggling.

Stay Strong Everyone,

Cathy
